YouTube Music's Latest Updates Make Offline Listening Easier Than Ever.

YouTube Music has updated its offline mode with a new option to auto-download up to 200 recently played songs, which is different from the existing smart download capability. The feature is designed to help users who forget to save songs for offline listening and is currently only available on Android. This is a welcome addition to the app's feature set, as many of its rivals like Spotify don't currently have this capability.

YouTube Music introduces auto-download feature for recently played songs.

YouTube Music on Android now has a setting that allows Premium subscribers to automatically download up to 200 recently played songs. The feature can be found in Settings > Downloads & storage and is separate from the existing Smart downloads feature. The Recently played songs do not appear to have a dedicated playlist in the Library tab but can be accessed through the Downloads app shortcut. The feature was introduced in mid-January and has yet to be announced for YouTube Music on iOS.
