American Travis Timmerman Rescued from Syrian Imprisonment by U.S. Military
Travis Timmerman, an American who was missing for months, was flown out of Syria by the U.S. military after being freed by rebel forces from a Syrian prison. Timmerman, who was on a pilgrimage to Damascus, was found wandering barefoot near Damascus. His release comes amid recent upheaval in Syria following the overthrow of Bashar al-Assad's government. Timmerman's family had lost contact with him after he traveled to Lebanon, and his release highlights ongoing efforts to locate other missing Americans in Syria.
