Challenges in COVID booster uptake: Prior infections and side effect concerns
Only 20% of eligible Americans are receiving COVID-19 boosters, according to a survey of 2,000 US adults. The study found that the most common reasons for not getting a booster were prior infections (39.5%) and concerns about side effects (31.5%). Additionally, some respondents did not believe that a booster would provide additional protection. The findings highlight the need for improved education on the benefits of boosters and addressing concerns about side effects to increase vaccination rates.
