Turkey has completed the construction of new homes for people left homeless after a devastating earthquake in Hatay province, with President Erdogan handing over keys to 7,275 houses and pledging to deliver a total of 200,000 houses this year. The earthquake, which occurred in February 2023, resulted in the deaths of more than 50,000 people and left millions homeless. The government plans to deliver 75,000 houses over the next two months and a total of 680,000 homes by next year, with 390,000 families registered to receive houses.
