Wildfire Threatens Red Rocks Season-Opening Concert.

A fast-growing wildfire estimated at 25-30 acres has prompted pre-evacuation orders for Morrison, the Solterra Subdivision of Lakewood, and the Red Rock Ranch neighborhood at C-470 in Colorado due to strong winds. A second fire was also reported in Aurora but was contained before 4:30 p.m. Highway 93 is closed from I-70 to Morrison, and residents in pre-evacuation areas should be prepared to leave immediately if an evacuation order is put in place. Extra resources are being called to assist with the fire, and there is no word on the cause yet.

Multiple Wildfires Spark Pre-Evacuation Notices in Jefferson County

A wildfire is burning in Jefferson County along the hogback south of Interstate 70, leading to pre-evacuation warnings in multiple neighborhoods in Jefferson County and the western edge of Lakewood. The fire, as of about 3:30 p.m. Friday, is 10 acres and growing, fueled by extremely strong winds. Pre-evacuation notices have been issued for the Morrison area, Solterra subdivision, and Red Rock Ranch neighborhood. The fire sparked Friday afternoon in windy weather and during a red flag warning on fire danger in the area. Smoke is visible and firefighters are on scene. Colorado 93 is closed from I-70 to Morrison because of the fire.

The Hogback fire near Morrison in Jefferson County has grown to 10 acres and has prompted pre-evacuation notices for some residents in Morrison, as well as the Solterra Subdivision and Red Rocks Ranch neighborhood of Lakewood. The Dabin show at Red Rocks Amphitheatre has been postponed due to high winds. Power outages have affected thousands of customers in the area. The state is currently under three weather warnings, two watches, two advisories, and an alert due to heavy snow, high winds, and bad air.
