AMPTP Taps Crisis PR Firm Amid Ongoing Strikes
The Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP) has hired crisis management firm the Levinson Group to assist with messaging efforts during the ongoing actors' and writers' double strike, which is causing severe economic consequences. The AMPTP has previously enlisted political operatives during strikes, and the hiring of the Levinson Group follows the breakdown of recent talks between the AMPTP and the Writers Guild of America (WGA). The WGA has criticized the AMPTP's decision to publicly release the studios' counteroffer. SAG-AFTRA has also hired a PR firm for the current standoff.
