However, faced with the possibility of rule changes and pressure from his colleagues, Tuberville dropped his hold on most nominees earlier this month. While he still maintains his hold on civilian Pentagon nominees, delaying civilian confirmations is a common form of protest and is unlikely to cause significant issues.
