Anti-Putin partisans shelled the Russian town of Shebekino, just over four miles from the Ukrainian border, while Russia hit Kyiv in an early morning high-speed missile attack, leaving three dead and 11 injured. Oleksandr Mishchenko, a police chief in the occupied Ukrainian city of Melitopol who defected to Russia after they seized the city, has been killed in an apparent partisan bombing. The explosion happened at the entrance to the block where he lived, injuring two policemen and hospitalizing them. The exiled mayor of Melitopol called the dead officer a traitor, and there have been reports of heightened Ukrainian partisan activity in the region. Melitopol is the largest city on territory occupied by Russia since February 2022.
