The Hachi Cabin, located in southern Chile, is a single large space designed to preserve the existing trees and make the most of light and heat. A house in A Coruña, Galicia, Spain, designed by Carbajo Barrios and built by Martínez Neira, features an open space with no interior divisions and a bathroom that is not enclosed. The design adopts the humble, simple, and honest tone of an existing single-story gable home on the plot, expressing itself through codes more typical of a warehouse or industrial building than of a house. The interior finishes use bare and necessary materials, seeking the dignity of what is useful and necessary.
