The Oklahoma Sheriffs’ Association has suspended a sheriff and two others after they were secretly recorded making racist and murderous comments about Black people and journalists. The recording was made after a public meeting last month and the officials have faced calls to resign. The sheriff’s office has claimed the audio was illegally obtained and edited, but the full recording will be released on Thursday.
