Search Continues for Missing Boater off North Carolina Coast
Expert fisherman Jeffrey Kale has been missing for nearly a week after his boat was found drifting off the North Carolina coast, prompting the Coast Guard to call off a second round of searches. Despite extensive efforts by rescue crews and good Samaritans, there has been no sign of Kale, and authorities fear the worst. The 47-year-old was last seen leaving the Southport Wildlife Boat Ramp, and his empty boat was discovered 83 miles off the coast of Wrightsville Beach. Cmdr. Corrie Sergent expressed condolences to the Kale family and acknowledged the difficulty of suspending the search, while noting the assistance received from various sources.
