Somalia, Pakistan, Denmark, Greece, and Panama Secure UN Security Council Seats
Somalia has secured a non-permanent seat on the United Nations Security Council for the first time since the 1970s, marking a significant milestone for the nation. This position will allow Somalia to influence global decisions on peace and security, informed by its own experiences with civil war and the fight against Islamist militants. Somalia, along with Denmark, Greece, Pakistan, and Panama, will serve a two-year term starting January next year.
