Cubs Part Ways with Veteran Players
The Chicago Cubs have non-tendered outfielder Mike Tauchman and infielder Nick Madrigal, making them free agents, as part of a series of roster adjustments. Tauchman, who had a solid performance over the past two years, was let go due to a crowded outfield and his projected $2.9 million arbitration salary. Madrigal, plagued by injuries, struggled to secure a consistent role with the Cubs. The team also signed contracts with several players, including Matt Thaiss and Julian Merryweather, and made additional roster moves to prepare for the 2025 season.
