Yankees add rotation depth with Weathers deal from Marlins
The New York Yankees acquired left-hander Ryan Weathers from the Miami Marlins for four minor leaguers (Dillon Lewis, Brendan Jones, Dylan Jasso and Juan Matheus) to bolster their rotation amid injuries. Weathers, 26, pitched to a 3.99 ERA in eight 2025 starts after an injury-shortened season and is under club control for three more seasons, with a fastball around 97 mph and solid strikeout potential but a recent injury history. The trade provides depth as the Yankees continue to pursue higher-end arms and consider other moves, including a potential pursuit of Cody Bellinger and bullpen upgrades.
