Atlantic Weather Watch: 2 Areas of Interest Detected in Tropical Tracking

The National Hurricane Center is monitoring two areas of interest in the Atlantic. One area of low pressure in the eastern tropical Atlantic has a 20% chance of development in the next seven days, while the second area, located off the Cabo Verde Islands, also has a 20% chance of development. Slow development is possible for both systems as they move west-northwestward or northwestward across the Atlantic.

"Mexico on Alert as Tropical Depression 2-E Gains Strength, Set to Become Hurricane Beatriz in Pacific"

Tropical Storm Beatriz has formed off the southern coast of Mexico and is expected to rapidly strengthen into a hurricane by Friday. It is forecasted to track parallel to the southwestern coast of Mexico, prompting Hurricane Warnings and Watches in various areas. The National Hurricane Center is also tracking Hurricane Adrian, which is moving away from Mexico in the Eastern Pacific.

June's Unusual Tropical Storm Activity: Bret, Cindy, and Three Disturbances in the Atlantic

Tropical Storm Bret weakens as it moves away from the eastern Caribbean islands after producing wind gusts upwards of 60 mph. All Tropical Storm Warnings have been dropped as the storm moves farther away. The NHC predicts that the storm will weaken further and dissipate over the central Caribbean Sea by early Sunday. This marks the first time in recorded history that two tropical cyclones have formed east of the Lesser Antilles in the tropical Atlantic during June.
