American Airlines announced five new Europe routes for summer 2026, including new destinations Budapest and Prague, and expanded service to Milan, Athens, and Zurich, with some routes being seasonal and others year-round, primarily using Boeing 787-8 and 777 aircraft, as part of its limited long-haul expansion.
Avelo Airlines is adding four new nonstop destinations at Tweed New Haven Airport, including Atlanta, Charlotte, Knoxville, and Destin, becoming the only airline to offer nonstop service from southern Connecticut to these cities. The services will begin in May 2024, and customers can make reservations on the Avelo Airlines website. With this expansion, Tweed New Haven Airport will now provide flights to 21 nonstop destinations, more than any other airline in the state.
Breeze Airways is adding five new non-stop flight destinations from Richmond International Airport, including Los Angeles, Cincinnati, and Long Island-Islip. The airline is also bringing back “summer seasonal” flights to Jacksonville and Providence. Introductory rates start at $49 from Richmond to Cincinnati and must be purchased by May 26 for travel from May 31 to Nov. 14. Breeze Airways currently offers flights from Richmond to 13 total destinations.
Breeze Airways has added five new non-stop flight destinations from Pittsburgh International Airport, including Raleigh-Durham, Jacksonville, New York-Islip, Portland, and Los Angeles. The airline offers affordable one-way tickets starting at $53 by scheduling flights on peak days and avoiding unpopular ones. Breeze Airways also includes a layover option without passengers having to get off the plane. The airline aims to provide non-stop flights to destinations that typically have layovers and includes smaller and larger cities.
Avelo is adding nine new destinations from Wilmington Airport starting in June, bringing the total number of destinations to 14. Tickets are on sale now for as low as $29. The move will create 35 new jobs at the airport, bringing the total to over 100. The new destinations include Daytona Beach, Nashville, Greenville, Raleigh, Wilmington, Myrtle Beach, Savannah, Charleston, and Cocoa Beach.
