The World Health Organization (WHO) has released new guidelines advising against the use of non-sugar sweeteners, such as stevia and sucralose, for weight loss and weight management. The guidelines also recommend avoiding the use of non-sugar sweeteners to reduce the risk of chronic diseases, including cardiovascular disease, type 2 diabetes, and all-cause mortality in adults. Instead, the WHO suggests prioritizing naturally occurring sugars from fruits and unsweetened foods and beverages to improve overall health.
