Johnny Lujack, the Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback who led Notre Dame to three national championships in the 1940s, has passed away at the age of 98. Lujack was considered one of the greatest Notre Dame players of all time, winning the Heisman in 1947 and leading the Irish to national titles in 1943, 1946, and 1947. He played for the Chicago Bears in the NFL before retiring at the age of 26. Lujack is best remembered for a game-saving tackle in the famous 1946 Army-Notre Dame matchup, often referred to as the game of the century.

LSU and Kentucky Dominate Directors' Cup Standings with Top-10 Finishes

LSU finished in 9th place in the final Directors' Cup standings for the 2022-23 academic year, thanks to national championships in women's basketball and baseball, as well as top-10 finishes in gymnastics, beach volleyball, and men's and women's outdoor track and field. LSU finishes No. 9 in the Directors' Cup standings, their highest ranking since 2009, thanks to national championships in baseball and women's basketball, as well as strong finishes in gymnastics, beach volleyball, and men's and women's outdoor track and field. The Directors' Cup measures the overall success of athletic programs based on NCAA Championship finishes, with LSU earning points in 19 sports. The Southeastern Conference had eight schools ranked in the Top 25, and Stanford claimed the overall title for the 26th time.

Basketball Hall of Famer Denny Crum dies at 86.

Denny Crum, the Hall of Fame college basketball coach who led Louisville to two national championships in the 1980s, died Tuesday at the age of 86. Crum played college basketball under John Wooden at UCLA in the late 1950s, then joined the Bruins' staff as an assistant under Wooden, helping the program to three national titles during his time there. Crum led the Cardinals to the Final Four six times -- winning national titles in 1980 and '86 -- and made the NCAA tournament 23 times in his 30 seasons. He oversaw Louisville's move from the Missouri Valley Conference to the Metro Conference to Conference USA, and his teams won 15 regular-season conference championships across the two different leagues.

"2023 NCAA Women's Golf Regionals: Selections and Sites Announced"

The NCAA Division I Women's Golf Committee has announced the teams and individuals selected to participate in the 2023 NCAA Division I Women's Golf Regionals. Regional play will take place May 8-10 at six regional sites, with a total of 396 student-athletes competing. The top five teams and the low individual not on an advancing team from each regional site will advance to play in the national championships to be played May 19-24 at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Arizona.
