LSU and Kentucky Dominate Directors' Cup Standings with Top-10 Finishes

LSU finished in 9th place in the final Directors' Cup standings for the 2022-23 academic year, thanks to national championships in women's basketball and baseball, as well as top-10 finishes in gymnastics, beach volleyball, and men's and women's outdoor track and field. This is LSU's highest finish since 2009 and second-highest of all time. Stanford won the Cup, and LSU ranked fourth among SEC schools. LSU has now won 51 total national championships and hopes to add to that under athletics director Scott Woodward.

The Directors' Cup measures the overall success of athletic programs based on NCAA Championship finishes, with LSU earning points in 19 sports. The Southeastern Conference had eight schools ranked in the Top 25, and Stanford claimed the overall title for the 26th time.

2022-23 Directors' Cup Standings: Top Finishing Schools Revealed

Ohio State Athletics finished third in the Directors' Cup standings for the 2022-23 college sports season, behind Stanford and Texas. The Buckeyes accumulated 1,210.75 points from the postseason success of their athletic programs that competed at their respective NCAA championships this year. This marks the second consecutive year Ohio State finished as a top-five athletics program in the standings and the ninth time the Buckeyes have finished as the No. 1 school in the Big Ten.
