Alaska Lt. Gov. Nancy Dahlstrom challenges incumbent in U.S. House race
Alaska Lt. Gov. Nancy Dahlstrom has announced her candidacy for Alaska's lone seat in the U.S. House, challenging Democratic incumbent Mary Peltola in the 2024 election. Dahlstrom, a conservative Republican with a background in law enforcement and military advocacy, has served as lieutenant governor for less than a year. She joins a congressional race that also includes fellow Republican Nick Begich. The Alaska Republican Party has yet to announce formal endorsements. The candidates will run under Alaska's new voting system, which includes an open, nonpartisan primary and ranked-choice general election.
