Dexerto has revealed the alt cover art for the revised Dungeons & Dragons Monster Manual, featuring a mind flayer, coinciding with the game's 50th anniversary. The cover, designed by Olena Richards and Simen Meyer, will be available in local game stores on February 4, 2025, ahead of its wider release. The choice of a mind flayer, popularized by Stranger Things and Baldur's Gate 3, aims to attract new players and connect with fans. Preorders for the 2024 Core Rulebooks start on June 18, 2024.

Wizards of the Coast is updating the core books of Dungeons & Dragons Fifth Edition, including the Player's Handbook, Dungeon Master's Guide, and Monster Manual, with a release date set for 2024.
