3D Imaging of Lab-Grown Monkey Embryos Sheds Light on Organ Development
Scientists have successfully grown monkey embryos in the laboratory for 25 days, allowing them to observe the beginning of organ formation and the development of the nervous system. The embryos were grown in small vials of culture medium, which allowed them to grow in three dimensions as they would inside the womb. The insights gleaned from the lab-grown embryos will help researchers to develop a better understanding of early embryo development in primates.
