Massive Privacy Breach: Popular Apps on Google Play Store Sending Personal Data to China
Two file management apps on the Google Play Store, File Recovery and Data Recovery, have been found to be spyware, secretly sending sensitive user data to malicious servers in China. Developed by the same group, these apps engage in deceptive behavior and collect personal information without users' knowledge. The stolen data includes contact lists, media files, location, and device details. The spyware apps have advanced permissions to hide their icons and are difficult to uninstall. Users are advised to be cautious when downloading apps and read app permissions carefully. Organizations should educate employees about mobile threats and implement automated mobile detection and response systems.
