The latest Michelin Guide for Washington, D.C. has added two new one-star restaurants: Mita, a vegetarian Latin American eatery, and Omakase, a Japanese sushi spot. Additionally, Oyster Oyster, a vegan restaurant, received the city's first Michelin Green star for sustainability. The guide now features 116 restaurants, including those with Bib Gourmand ratings, representing 37 different cuisines. Notably, Pineapple and Pearls was downgraded from two stars to one, and Mayan lost its one-star status.

Michelin has announced its 2024 star ratings for Washington D.C., with Omakase @ Barracks Row and Mita joining the list of one-starred restaurants. The announcement was part of a tri-city event also covering New York and Chicago. Mita's recognition is historic for its Venezuelan co-chefs, marking significant achievements for both. The D.C. area now hosts 26 Michelin-starred restaurants, with The Inn at Little Washington retaining its three-star status. Additionally, two new restaurants joined the Bib Gourmand list, while four lost their titles.
