Omaha's Metropolitan Utilities District Implements Extended Water Restrictions Following Main Break
The Metropolitan Utilities District is extending outdoor water use restrictions for the Omaha area until August 21st due to a major water main break. Residents are asked to limit their water use to twice per week, with no watering on Mondays. The break occurred near the Florence Water Production Plant, and repairs have reduced capacity at one of the district's water production facilities. Outdoor watering activities such as irrigation, filling swimming pools, and hosing driveways are included in the restrictions. MUD will also stop flushing fire hydrants, and customers experiencing issues should contact the MUD customer service line.
