A leaked Intel product roadmap confirms the cancelation of the Meteor Lake-S with 6 Performance and 8 Efficient cores for desktop series, which was long speculated to be replaced with an Arrow Lake die with the same configuration. The rest of the roadmap is masked, leaving confusion surrounding Intel's plans for the next-gen Core series. The next-gen Core series may not feature more cores than Raptor Lake, but the core design will be updated for what is called Lion Cove and Skymont hybrid architecture.

Intel Samples Emerald Rapids & Meteor Lake-S CPUs, Reveals 5th Gen Xeon Image.

Intel has reportedly started sampling its 5th Gen Emerald Rapids and Meteor Lake-S Desktop CPUs. The Xeon Emerald Rapids R-0 stepping is being sampled to customers for system testing and issue debugging, and the samples will be fused as PQS and graded to ES2 standards. The Meteor Lake-S CPUs are also being sampled, indicating that the desktop platform may still receive some form of Meteor Lake chips. The CPUs are expected to launch in 2023 and 2024, respectively.
