Royals Add Beaty, Lose Massey to Injury List.

The Kansas City Royals have selected the contract of utilityman Matt Beaty from Triple-A and placed second baseman Michael Massey on the 10-day injured list due to a left hand laceration. Beaty, who has experience at both corner infield and outfield positions, could help out at all four spots plus the DH role in Kansas City. Massey has seen most of the playing time at second base this season, though Matt Duffy, Nicky Lopez, and Maikel Garcia have also gotten some work at the keystone for platoon reasons and because Massey hasn’t hit much.

SF Giants' Joc Pederson Joins Growing List of Injured Players on IL

The San Francisco Giants have placed outfielder Joc Pederson on the 10-day injured list due to right wrist inflammation. The team has recalled Matt Beaty to take his place on the active roster. Giants manager Gabe Kapler hopes Pederson's stay on the IL will be a short one. The Giants are currently struggling with a depleted lineup and a 5-8 record in the NL West.

The San Francisco Giants have called up Heliot Ramos to help with their upcoming games against left-handed starting pitchers. Ramos was previously optioned back to Triple-A due to his lack of contribution. However, if he can show improvement during his time with the Giants, he may be able to raise his stock. The Giants acquired Matt Beaty, a player they coveted, but were able to option him down due to a loophole in his contract.

SF Giants' Roster Shake-Up: Trades, Snubs, and Recalls.

The San Francisco Giants had an odd couple of days with roster moves, including outfielder Bryce Johnson being sent down after a strong spring, only to be brought back two days later when Brett Wisely was sent down. The moves were due to issues behind the scenes, including the Giants acquiring Matt Beaty and trying to work out a second trade that ultimately fell through. Despite the confusion, the Giants feel they ended up where they wanted to be with their roster.
