Colorado Rapids' Max Alves suspended and investigated for alleged sports gambling involvement.
Colorado Rapids midfielder Max Alves has been removed from all team activities amid allegations of "unlawful sports gambling." Alves is reportedly under investigation in Brazil as part of a match manipulation scandal and is accused of taking money from match-fixers to perform specific actions during games. He is one of 16 people being investigated by Brazilian authorities and allegedly "the only player playing outside of Brazil implicated in the scheme."
