Unveiling the Enigma: Unexplained Phenomenon Spotted in Mars' Orbit (Images)
NASA's Odyssey orbiter captured new images of the Martian horizon using its THEMIS camera, revealing the dusty skies and providing a glimpse of Phobos, one of Mars' mysterious moons. Phobos, with its irregular shape and close orbit to Mars, has raised questions about its composition, internal structure, and origin. Radar detections by Europe's Mars Express spacecraft suggest the presence of unknown structures within Phobos, while high-resolution images from the Mars Global Surveyor revealed a large and unusually shaped boulder known as the Phobos monolith. The new imagery offers unique insights into Phobos and may help determine its true nature, while future missions aim to retrieve samples from Phobos and Deimos to unravel their mysteries.
