"Proud Boys Member Defiantly Sentenced to 6 Years for Capitol Riot"
Marc Bru, a Proud Boys member, was sentenced to six years in prison for his involvement in the U.S. Capitol riot on January 6, 2021, after showing no signs of remorse and defiantly stating in court that he would do it all over again even if given 100 years. Prosecutors had sought a longer sentence, highlighting his lack of remorse and subsequent attempt to organize a violent insurrection in Portland. Bru's actions included breaching the Capitol perimeter, harassing police officers, and entering the building to take selfies. He was also fined and ordered to pay restitution. Over 1,265 individuals have been charged in connection with the Capitol attack.
