Surge in COVID-19 Hospitalizations Reported by CRH
Columbus Regional Hospital in Indiana has reported an increase in COVID-19 hospitalizations, with 14 people currently hospitalized, up from four on November 14. The hospital's doctor's offices are also seeing a high number of patients with COVID-19 symptoms. Officials expect these numbers to continue rising due to Thanksgiving gatherings and low vaccination rates in the community. The COVID-19 hospitalization rate in Bartholomew County is approaching "medium" levels, and there have been COVID-19 deaths in the area. Some cases of the virus have been confirmed at a long-term care facility in Hope. Health officials are urging residents to get vaccinated, as only 1 in 5 local residents are up to date on their COVID-19 shots.
