"RI Public Transit CEO Avedisian's Resignation Amid Hit-and-Run Controversy"
RIPTA CEO Scott Avedisian is expected to resign following a hit-and-run incident at a McDonald's drive-thru, for which he has been charged. A special meeting is scheduled to discuss his potential exit package, and the RIPTA board has not yet changed his employment status. Avedisian has pleaded not guilty and is due back in court later this month. Witnesses reported that he appeared intoxicated at the time of the collision, and police found the damaged RIPTA-issued car parked at his home. Avedisian has not publicly addressed the allegations, and the R.I. Attorney General's office is handling the case.
