Bobby Whitlock, a key musician on legendary albums like Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs, has died at 77 in Texas after a brief illness. He was a Memphis-born musician who played with notable artists and was a member of Derek and the Dominos, contributing to iconic songs. Whitlock continued his music career with solo work and collaborations, and was recently inducted into Memphis’ Beale Street Walk of Fame.
