Anshar Studios discusses shipping first UE5 third-party game with Lumen.

Anshar Studios discusses the implementation of Unreal Engine 5's Lumen technology, console specs, and the newly announced MacOS version optimized for Apple Silicon in the upcoming release of Layers of Fear, the first third-party game built using UE5. The game features Lumen's ray tracing features, Niagara VFX system, and a choice of Quality or Performance mode on consoles. The game will also support AMD FSR integration and PSO Cache system to mitigate stuttering issues. Anshar Studios also announced the MacOS version of the game, which supports Lumen global illumination and reflections system and MetalFX Upscaling.

Xbox players unlock Layers of Fear achievements.

The achievement list for Layers of Fear, a psychological horror game developed by Bloober Team and Anshar Studios, has been released ahead of its Xbox Series X|S release on June 15. The game includes the original 2016 game, its inheritance DLC, and Layers of Fear 2, all rebuilt in Unreal Engine 5 with support for ray tracing, HDR, and 4K resolution. The remake includes "brand-new core mechanics" and additional features, and there are 52 achievements worth a total of 1,000 Gamerscore.

Bloober Team has released 11 minutes of gameplay footage from its upcoming Layers of Fear remake, featuring a new character exploring an unsettling lighthouse. The game will include content from the original Layers of Fear, Layers of Fear Inheritance DLC, and Layers of Fear 2, all rebuilt in Unreal Engine 5. It is set to release in June 2023 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Windows PC. Bloober Team is also working on a remake of Konami's Silent Hill 2.
