
Lance Blanks, Former NBA Player and Executive, Dies at 56.
Lance Blanks, former Texas star guard and Phoenix Suns GM, died at the age of 56 while on a scouting assignment for the Los Angeles Clippers in Dallas. No cause of death was given. Blanks was remembered fondly by NBA colleagues and friends, including Steve Kerr and Joe Dumars. Blanks had a successful college career at Texas and was inducted into the Texas Longhorns Hall of Honor in 2007. He later worked in the front offices of the San Antonio Spurs and Cleveland Cavaliers before becoming general manager of the Suns in 2010.
