"Rare Discovery: 1,900-Year-Old Roman Swords Unearthed in Dead Sea Cave"
Israeli researchers have discovered four excellently preserved Roman swords and a javelin head in a hidden cave near the Dead Sea. The weapons were found near Ein Gedi and are believed to have been hidden by Judean rebels during the Bar Kokhba Revolt in 132-135 CE. The swords, identified as Roman spatha swords, were carefully removed and are currently being preserved and studied by the Israeli Antiquities Authority.
