Bongbong Marcos Makes Historic Visit to US Indo-Pacific Command HQ

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. will become the first Philippine president to visit the US Indo-Pacific Command Headquarters in Hawaii. He will meet with Admiral John Aquilino, the highest-ranking military commander in the Asia-Pacific region, and participate in a roundtable discussion at the Daniel Inouye Asia Pacific Center for Security Studies. Marcos is expected to discuss regional security developments, including the South China Sea. This visit concludes his weeklong trip to the United States, which included attending the Apec Economic Leaders' Meeting and related activities in San Francisco and a working visit to Los Angeles.

Skyline Rail: Incentives and Concerns Surrounding Honolulu's Grand Opening

U.S. Military officials are urging Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam employees in Hawaii to use the newly opened Skyline rail system instead of driving to work, in an effort to alleviate traffic congestion. If 10% of shipyard workers take the rail, it would remove approximately 500 cars from the roads during peak travel times. The military is collaborating with TheBus to provide buses from the rail transit stop to the base, and employees can receive reimbursement for public transportation through the Public Transportation Incentive Program.
