"Police Crackdown on Jewish-Organized DNC Protest Demanding Ceasefire"
Jewish organizations IfNotNow and Jewish Voice for Peace have been organizing protests across the United States calling for a ceasefire in Gaza. On Wednesday, they helped organize a protest at the Democratic National Committee's headquarters in Washington, D.C., where Capitol Police violently broke up the demonstration. Police claimed that protesters pepper-sprayed officers, but images from the protest show that officers used force and deployed pepper spray. Congressmember Brad Sherman described the protesters as "pro-terrorist," while President Biden expressed appreciation for how law enforcement handled the protest. Protest organizers say 90 people were injured, and one person was arrested.
