American Aid Worker Held Hostage in Niger for 6 Years Finally Released
American aid worker Jeff Woodke, who was held hostage in West Africa for over six years, has been released and is now safe. Woodke was taken from his home in Niger in 2016 by a terrorist network that operates across Mali, Niger, and Burkina Faso. He was released outside of Niger in the Mali-Burkina Faso area. The U.S. national security adviser thanked Niger for its help in bringing Woodke home.
