Israeli Tank Attack on Reuters Journalist in Lebanon: A War Crime Investigation Needed
An investigation by Reuters has found that an Israeli tank crew fired two shells at a group of journalists in Lebanon on October 13, killing Reuters visuals journalist Issam Abdallah and severely injuring AFP photographer Christina Assi. The investigation, which included video footage, satellite images, and expert analysis, concluded that the tank rounds were fired from within Israel. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have not publicly released any findings regarding the incident. International humanitarian law prohibits attacks on journalists, and the news agencies involved are calling on Israel to explain and hold those responsible accountable.
