Unity Reverses Controversial Runtime Fee Policy and Apologizes to Developers

ID@Xbox Showcase and Demo Event Set for July 2023

Microsoft will showcase upcoming games from independent developers in the IGN x ID@Xbox Digital Showcase on July 11, followed by the Summer Game Demo Fest from July 11 to July 17. The ID@Xbox Digital Showcase will be exclusively available on IGN's channels, while the Xbox Wire post will provide a rundown of the trailers, announcements, and gameplay revealed during the show. The Summer Game Demo Fest will feature a host of indie games for players to try on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One.

Shuhei Yoshida to receive prestigious BAFTA Games Fellowship.

Shuhei Yoshida, head of Sony Interactive Entertainment's independent developer initiative, will receive a BAFTA Fellowship for his work as a champion of independent developers. The award recognises his consistent efforts to nurture creativity and innovation in the indie games industry through social media, podcasts, official PlayStation videos, and wider games media. The 19th annual BAFTA Games Awards will take place on March 30, with God of War Ragnarok picking up 14 nominations.
