New Dinosaur Species with Sail-Like Back Discovered

Paleontologists have discovered a new dinosaur species, Istiorachis macarthurae, on the Isle of Wight, notable for its striking sail-like back, which likely served as a sexual display rather than for temperature regulation. The species, from over 120 million years ago, was about 2 meters tall and weighed around 1000 kg, and its unique features help highlight the diversity of early Cretaceous dinosaurs in the area.

"Jogger Discovers 140-Million-Year-Old Dinosaur Footprint on Brownsea Island"

A jogger at a red squirrel nature reserve on Brownsea Island in Dorset discovered the footprint of a Jurassic dinosaur dating back 140 million years. The footprint, identified as that of an iguanodon, a 36 feet tall, 285 stone herbivore, was found in a slab of Purbeck stone that had been imported to the island about 50 years ago. The significance of the footprint had gone unnoticed until now, and it will be available for public viewing when Brownsea Island reopens next March.
