"Digital Realty and Blackstone Form $7 Billion Data Center Development Partnership"

Digital Realty and Blackstone have announced a joint venture to develop four hyperscale data center campuses across three metro areas in Europe and North America. The joint venture is expected to deliver approximately 500 megawatts of IT capacity and has an estimated development cost of $7 billion. Blackstone will acquire an 80% ownership interest in the joint venture for $700 million, while Digital Realty will maintain a 20% interest. The joint venture is scheduled to close in the first half of 2024, subject to regulatory approvals.

Kioxia Introduces High-Capacity CD8P SSD with Lightning-Fast PCIe 5.0 Interface

Kioxia has unveiled its CD8P SSD drives for data centers, offering high storage capacity of up to 30.72 TB and high sequential read performance of up to 12,000 MB/s. The single-port drives are designed for hyperscale data centers and come in E3.S and U.2 form factors. They feature enterprise-grade features and are available in two versions: CD8P-V for mixed-use applications and CD8P-R for read-intensive workloads. The CD8P SSDs are positioned for a broad range of scale-out and cloud workloads, as well as AI-oriented workloads. Shipping dates have not been announced yet.
