A drone launched from Yemen by the Houthi group crashed in Eilat, Israel, causing material damage but no casualties, amid ongoing tensions and retaliatory strikes in the region.

The Iran-aligned Houthi group fired missiles at a Liberian-flagged container ship in the Red Sea, according to the U.S. Central Command, although the vessel was not hit. The Houthi military spokesperson claimed they had targeted and hit the ship, vowing to escalate military operations during Ramadan in solidarity with Palestinians. The ongoing Houthi attacks in the Red Sea have disrupted global shipping, leading to concerns about wider regional destabilization. The United States and Britain have launched strikes on Houthi targets in Yemen and conducted self-defence strikes on Monday, destroying an unmanned underwater vessel and 18 anti-ship missiles.

The United States has imposed sanctions on 13 individuals and entities for allegedly funneling tens of millions of dollars to Yemen's Houthi group from the sale and shipment of Iranian commodities. The U.S. Treasury stated that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps backed the scheme, which involved a complex network of exchange houses and firms in multiple countries. The funds provided by Iran have enabled recent attacks by the Houthis on commercial shipping in the Red Sea, endangering international trade. The sanctions freeze assets and prohibit transactions with the targeted individuals and entities.
