The FDA has approved a new drug called Veozah for treating hot flashes, sweating, and chills caused by menopause. Unlike traditional hormonal therapy, Veozah blocks a chemical in the brain called neurokinin B (NKB) that regulates body temperature. The drug is taken orally once a day and costs $550 for a one-month supply. Veozah is considered an "unmet need" for women who cannot undergo hormonal therapy due to health conditions. The drug carries an FDA warning about potential liver damage and requires regular blood tests for safety monitoring.
