A 3,000-year-old bronze sword, believed to date back to the end of the 14th century BC, has been discovered in Nördlingen, southern Germany. The sword has an octagonal hilt and was found in a grave with three people buried in quick succession with bronze objects. The state of preservation is said to be extraordinary, and the find is considered rare as swords from this period are not commonly found.
