Researchers analyzing Antarctic ice cores suggest that a 1458/59 volcanic eruption was caused by two simultaneous eruptions from Kuwae in Vanuatu and an undocumented Southern Hemisphere volcano, which may explain the decade-long cooling in the 15th century.
