Japan launched its 50th and final H-2A rocket carrying the GOSAT-GW satellite, which will monitor water cycles and greenhouse gases to study climate change, marking the end of an era and the transition to the newer H3 rocket.
Japan's space agency JAXA has delayed the launch of a H-2A rocket, which was scheduled for May, to no earlier than August due to an ongoing investigation into the failed launch of H3 rocket in March. The H-2A rocket was supposed to carry the X-Ray Imaging and Spectroscopy Mission (XRISM) and the Smart Lander for Investigating Moon (SLIM). The delay will leave two Japanese space missions grounded for several more months.
