"Newly Discovered Species: Ghostly Creature with Abundant Genitalia Unearthed at Power Plant"
Scientists searching through archive collections for preserved animals from South America discovered a new species of ghost spider, named Otoniela lupercioi or Lupercioi's ghost spider. These spiders are known for being fast and difficult to see in the wild. The researchers found 20 similar-looking ghost spiders in the archives and identified the new species by its genitalia. Female Lupercioi's ghost spiders have ample external genitalia and a large internal reproductive organ. Several of these spiders were found at a hydroelectric power plant in Brazil, while others were found in Argentina and Paraguay. The researchers also discovered five more new species of ghost spider.
