"Arkansas Gov. Sanders Outlaws 'Woke' Language in State Government"

Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders has issued an executive order banning certain terms she deems sexist from state agencies. Phrases like "human milk," "birth-giver," and "chestfeeding" are now prohibited, and state agencies must use alternatives such as "breast milk," "birth mom," and "breastfeeding." Sanders argues that these terms are part of a "woke nonsense" trend that is demeaning to women. Critics suggest that the timing of the order is an attempt to divert attention from other controversies surrounding the governor's office.

Guests on a recent episode of Dr. Phil debated whether being "inclusive" to transgender people cheapens the idea of womanhood. Women's activist Kara Dansky argued that women are a biologically distinct group and that sex is a meaningful, legal, and physical category. Non-binary guest "Danny" claimed that giving birth does not necessarily designate a person as a mother or woman. Transgender and HIV activist Chandi Moore argued that transgender people who identify as women should be included as women. The debate centered around the use of gender-neutral language and the erasure of women.

Wellesley College Votes to Embrace Gender Diversity in Admissions

Students at Wellesley College in Massachusetts have voted in favor of a non-binding referendum that would expand the college's admissions policy to include transgender men and all nonbinary people regardless of their assigned gender at birth. The referendum also proposed replacing all gender-specific language with gender-neutral language in reference to the student body. The women's college currently accepts those who "live as women and consistently identify as women," including transgender women, and nonbinary students who "were assigned female at birth and who feel they belong in our community of women." The college's Director of Media Relations stated that there is no plan to revisit its mission as a women's college or its admissions policy.
